House and Pet Sitting Services Available

Responsible professional couple wants to care for your home, animals, and/or gardens as we did our own. We sold our executive home/hobby farm on 30 acres to free us to travel and to experience different neighborhoods and geographic areas. Jhan, a retired engineer with excellent handyman/home maintenance skills and a commercial drivers’ license can handle routine matters or jump in if issues arise. Colleen, an attorney/writer/photographer will care for your home and furry family members with love and care (as will Jhan).

We’re well-travelled, so are used to handling things as they come up in different environments. We’ve owned dogs, cats, horses, llamas, ferrets, birds, bearded dragons and more so are well-versed in animal care. Colleen grew up on a farm, and both of us come from small towns where caring for property and animals and appreciating and respecting neighbors is instilled.

We are members of Trusted Housesitters, Housecarers, and House Sitters America. ID Verification and background checks have been completed and are verified on Trusted Housesitters profile.

Seeking U.S. and international opportunities. We're experienced with high-end home maintenance and care, (and also maintained a 10,000 sq. ft. office building that housed our software company). We're open to remote locations (but do need internet or cell availability). Unique or urban settings or neighborhoods are also of interest. Healthy, non-smokers. COVID-safe.

Colleen and Jhan were simply a lovely couple. We had so much fun with them and felt to be long lost friends immediately! They were very easy to communicate before and during their stay. They listened attentively and asked appropriate questions and our dogs took to them immediately. Our horses were well cared for and we could have eaten on the barn floor upon our return! They had a lovely meal prepared for us upon our return and after an 8-9 hour RV drive home we were able to relax and enjoy a meal with them and hear all about their world travels. We hope to have them back if they’ll come! Don’t hesitate to have them for your furries!!

Colleen and Jhan were absolutely terrific house sitters. They arrived a couple of days early in their self-contained motorcoach and hooked up to our 50 amp electric, water, and septic set up adjacent to our home. They moved into the house after we left and took amazing care of our critters. While we were gone, they handled the delivery of a large, heavy item and dealt with the contractor who was installing new exterior doors. We were out of the country on a cruise, yet we had no trouble connecting with them through WhatsApp. We loved the photo and text message updates about our critters, and got a laugh out of Jhan's acknowledgment that he got "bitten" by the electric fence! Unfortunately, we weren't able to spend any time with them upon our return as Colleen had an appointment in Tucson. Nevertheless, we arrived home to a clean house and an amazing dinner ready for us in the fridge. We have already initiated discussions with Jhan and Colleen about another sit for us this fall. We can unhesitatingly recommend them as capable, kind, caring, and competent house sitters.

We were fortunate to locate Colleen & Jhan through housecarers.com when we were planning a Pacific Coast trip. They communicated their interest to visit our area of the country and made it clear that they looked forward to caring for our home and our dog, Coal. They made the transition easy by coming the day before we left so they could learn our routine. Before we left on our trip, Coal was already lapping up their love. Every few days, they texted us pictures -- these contacts reassured us that all was well. Whatever came up, if anything, they dealt with it without bothering us. When we returned home, it was obvious that Coal had been well cared for. Our plants had been watered and were flourishing, the yard was in great shape and the house was clean and neat. In summary, Colleen & Jhan were perfect house sitters, and we recommend them to you without hesitation!

I'd HIGHLY recommend choosing Jhan & Colleen as house sitters. You definitely won't regret it. They've been my 'go-to' sitters over many years, ranging from a week to 4 months. They're great with animals (and truly love them), are amazing at home maintenance, and keep me posted regularly by text, email and/or phone as I request. Every time I've trusted my home to Jhan & Colleen, I return to find it cleaner and in better shape than when I left it! They're responsible, dependable, and just nice people. Colleen and Jan took great care of our animals during the Thanksgiving week. We had a mare that floundered and they dealt with the vet and the medications with no issues which was a relief. We returned to a clean and tidy house with animals well cared for.

I would unreservedly recommend them to anyone. We know the dogs were happy; when we arrived home around 2 a.m. neither one even bothered to leave Colleen and Jhan to come and say hello to us. We returned from out trip to find we were COVID positive, so we weren't able to see Colleen and Jhan off. I found the dogs back in their room and they just looked at me as if to say "What did you do with our new friends?" Our house was immaculately maintained. They used common sense and some experimentation with our one older dog to support him in taking walks. They came the night before we left so we could get to know each other and familiarize themselves with some key dog routines and were flexible in their arrival and departure times. They communicated with us regularly on our trip, even though we didn't always have connectivity. I did not worry about our dogs being in anything but the safest of hands while we were away. We are very grateful for their help.

As Sweetie has aged, she hasn't always liked having house sitters, but, from the moment they arrived, Sweetie took to them right away. They regularly sent pictures to us during their walks with her and kept us abreast of household news. Everything was as we left it and in great condition. Colleen and Jhan are such nice people, it was like having friends staying rather than house sitters. I highly recommend them!
